pale & bloated,
he lay,
a great, dead walrus,
in the front yard,
little hearts boxers
cutting into his abundance.
it was always me, me, me...
she said, he said,
police bagging her
cast iron skillet.
none questioned how
her response
was less selfish,
except their son,
laying in the impression
left in the uncut grass.
steveroni's "55"...
(Brian, you are indeed a MASTER teller of tales. Were you on that road to Canterbury?)
Fade into..."But, Judge Howell, you do not understand...he was running, and WHACK! ran right into my skillet..."
"WHY did I have a skillet in the front yard? Hell man, I was swatting mosquitoes..."
I rest my case!

This puts a funny twist on a rather grusome outcome. I'm from Wisconsin and we raise big skeeters here. My 55 is up and I hope you have an awesome weekend!
I like it--a good way to exercise the arms and get rid of a few skeeters.
it happens... :)
LOL...I see everyone is feeding off of eachothers 55's today...GREAT!!!!!
Ahhh...
There! Don't you feel much better?
I knew you would.
Excellent Addendum Stevo, You Rock The Sunshine State.

A grand follow up to Brian's 55.
My 55 is HERE .
how creative,
you and Brian,
both are cool writers...
beautiful correspondence and
what fun to read both here!
Oh! Brian is good :) So are you!!!
I like it :P
(ooh now I get the post about love :) then feel welcome to go and take a look whenerver you may like )
Wonderfully ingenious, Steveroni! This is one of the cleverest and most effective 55s I've read, the suffusion of two brilliant story tellers - an assured recipe for success :)
G-Man whined and you responded and I'm glad you did.
"pale & bloated, he lay, a great, dead walrus....that's a pretty heavy and dark image in the head.
You lightened it up.
I loved both Brian's and your 55.

What an interesting exercise, Steveroni! And with an awesome outcome! I like this 55 lots. It's got a nice lull to it... Just in time for the weekend. Have yourself a good one... weekend that is! ;-)

Ha ha ha! Thanks for the funny contribution to the 55 day.
That would be a double dunk by Brian & yourself. A clever 55 Steve!
Now that is a great excuse for a murder, steveroni!! I've heard just about everything in my 21 years as a forensic nurse but this is something new...sounds like something your'd find in a Carl Hiassen novel...have you read him,by the way, being from FL? I like his humorous forensic tales.
lol, too funny Steve!
Neat
I do not get this but it's because my brain is full of ink tonight. In response to your comment: Thank you Steve. I read that. I read what she wrote. I do not know what she is talking about! Happy birthday and happy anniversary to you too. I have lived with five Geminis in New Jersey. The world did not end. In fact it started!
Wow - first those 55 words - then the next. 110 words that made my day! Thank you!
Ahhh the story changes and evolves here :)
Stevie this post made me smile. Thanks.
nice steve...lol. thanks for playing off me again...it makes it a rather three stooges moment..i hope you had a wonderful weekend and a great week ahead...

I am glad that you accepted two poetry awards.
Happy Tuesday!
I have struggled with 'Haiku'
in its many forms for years. Maybe
55's another way to transition!
