FLASH "55"-Word FRIDAY!
The message following
Is being sent to a friend
Far across rolling
Water-waves
In country tropical:
The old man asked this of me
"Do you wish to hear God?
Do you wish also to see?"
Question first
Now the answer--
"Look intently at
Your Nation...
Creation.
Then listen to the
Sound of the sea."

The challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to write a story in exactly 55 words. Flash Fiction 55 is hosted by the G-man, a host with the most (years--grin!).

That sea isn't going to make many sounds, I think. Nice 55. I especially like the rhythm in the second stanza.
Ooh, you've done the place up. Yes the sea always gives a sense of the unknowable. Gone for...well a bleak 55
I enjoyed the depth of this.
Mine is here

LOVED this. The picture is mesmerizing as I am a fan of water, waves, ocean, tides. Your words as well hint at lessons learned. Absolutely wonderful 55. And I need you to know that your encouragement and compliments mean the world to me. You're a class act, Steve. Glad I found you.
this is actually really amazing.
the sea answers a lot of questions.
wonderful, wonderful.
Fantastic photo. It does a great job of capturing your words. :)
You know I've got to see what you meant in your comment on my 55. See you tomorrow.
The photo's pretty amazing -- but boy do I love that story. So much truth in it : I'd love to meet that wise old man!
I hope there are 55 gallons of blue paint available! :)
I live by the water and simply can't live anywhere else! I relate to this completely! The blue of the sea is a great link between nations and creations!
very nicely done. and as vast as the sea vaster still is god.
love the visual you found too!
What a cool picture! And the words are equally refreshing. :)
Love the pic and 55's not bad either :)
very nice :) love the picture!
Very deep 55 asolutely and I absolutely love the picture. :)
Most likeable Steve - you were right - that was exactly the picture I had in my mind...at least when I started to write - but the strange thing - but I wasn't aware of it...
Isn't it strange - we see something and it touches a string - and it keeps ringing for a while - and very unexpected it escapes and makes us write something..
your 55 is breath taking,
you teach not preach,
I love the sound of the sea.
