Dreams have only one owner at a time.
That is why dreamers are lonely.
Erma Bombeck
AMENDED
Thank you for being here. A dream is so private a happening, with thousands of nuances which, as much joy it would be to share, there seems--to me--to be no way for any other to have even a clue show up as same or similar, in their part of the share. My opinion.

Aww, just loved the picture. It speaks so much. But let me see it this way: If all the dreamers come together then can loneliness be banished?
Steve, a potful of dreams and lovely companions to you.
Joy always,
Susan
Beautiful. (dream a little dream....dream-dream-dream)
:) Love it!
Sweet Peep Veroni of mine
This is just one of those simplicities I love so full of meaning and/ or meaningful.
The picture means to me ' I wish I had him in my hands that way... no harm, just domain'...
And dreaming... I agree is like that, just lonely as impossible... or maybe not!
I like it
;)
wonderful pic...i do think dreams belong to one...but they are best shared...
Beautiful pic you found there - and I agree with Brian - one should start to dream -and then share - and multiply...
Have a great day!
Claudia
As usual we are on the same page (i wrote about Erma Bombeck) a while back. Yes dreams are like that, some stay, some go, new ones appear. It may be one at a time but think of the horror if no dreams showed up.....
I heard of Erma on drybottomgirl's blog :) thanks Steveroni!
Very thought-provoking quote, I also loved the new header ;)
Just felt like coming back and say Hi again (and found my daughter looking at me from your sidebar - blogroll..funny..)
I LOVE that you played with Sigurd Rascher - and I would have loved to join both of you for some tunes...
Have a great evening!
Claudia
Love the quote and the pic!!
I hope you don't mind but I posted your lyrics today!!! : )
Hello Steveroni. I came here through Manon, taken by your beautiful song lyrics. :)
And now apparently by this quote. So true! But do you think dreamers wouldn't be so lonely anymore if they could share the dream? :)
AMALIA K: Wonderful for you to be here. Thank you. My thoughts on sharing of dreams I just wrote in an amendment (above), and does not take into account those who have made a life-study of dreams. Isn't Manon the GREATEST?!!!
MANON: Oooops, we were just talking about you! If you posted lyrics of mine, it means you like them, and THAT is all which matters!
CLAUDIA: We are getting to be a "habit" on these blogs, and that if FINE with me. You are so very much talented, and I am honored to be one of your Peeps!
MAHA: My gosh, I am surrounded with excellence here! I feel so "little" with the giants of art and poems all about! thank you SO much!
Erma is old-time stuff I guess, but if Dry Bottom featured her, I've got to go read that one.
DryBottom: I either do not dream, or do not remember them...but, how much can one dream in a 3-4-hour sleep? I shall go find your "Erma" blog. Thank you for commenting....
CLAUDIA: If you lived next door, we could stay up until midnight discussing about whether sharing dreams is satisfactory. Those FOUR-MOST-BEST-WORDS-IN-ENGLISH come to mind..."You may be right"!!!
BRIAN: When I used to dream I never enjoyed sharing, because I could not impart the essence of my experience. And I almost always got bored with another's attempts to have me understand theirs. SURE is good to see you here each day, man. Is that called "One-Day-At.....?"--grin!
DULCE: YOU...are "one-of-a-kind" if ever there was....I am SO grateful for you to be a follower, and a good friend. Your support here has been one reason I have not quit long ago...maybe you know that.
Thank you for your ever-so-kind words, Sweeter poet, Canary-Girl!
Yessss!
JSTAR: You wrote: "Love it!" And you know? THAT is one of the nicest comments ANY one could receive!
WILLOW: I also loved that song, "Dream a Little Dream of Me" and thank you for THAT memory, Dear One!
SUSAN DEBORAH: I LOVE the way you remind us frequently: JOY ALWAYS!
If all dreamers banded together with all their dreams, would it not be the end of the Universe as we know it? Hey, that might not be a bad idea--GRIN!
Some of my dreams are more like nightmares. I wish that all dreams were wonderful.
Well, I have a little amendment of my own to make to Ms. Bombeck's statement: Yes, dreams do have only one owner at a time. But the truth is that dreamers are not lonely. How can a dreamer be lonely in the company of all that fantasy? I'm a dreamer... I know. ;-)
And, let me see if I understood your amendment. You're saying that what we experience in a dream is only meaningful to us, and therefore, trying to share it with someone would be superfluous. If that is what you are saying... then I somewhat agree. You see, I write so often of my dreams, but it seems so few understand just what it is I'm trying to say. But, Steveroni, you seem to always get me. And I have to wonder why...
Visiting you, and being visited by you, is always a pleasure, Steve.

"Dreams have only one owner at a time.
That is why dreamers are lonely."
I really liked that quote but what I liked the most was all the rest -your words.
I´ve never thought of a dream as a private happening, and it really made sense to me when I read it!
By the way I wanted to tell you, do you remember that once you told me my "experiences" would be "unexpected?" and that the results would be unexpected?
Well, I think now I get what you were trying to say because indeed everything has been way more than unexpected but in the good way.
Still wanted to tell you that you was right :) Youu wise man!
AAAAAND.... I really love your new image!
LU ANN: Oh, Wow, girl! you are giving me goose bumps. You are into the "believing" stage, and how beautiful that is...THANK YOU!
You DO realize that a good Canary friend did the "image" thing for me? But THANK YOU! I AM the one who asked for help--from "Help Desk"--grin!
NEVINE: YOU--grin! I'll stand by both our "amendments" as having truth hidden in them somewhere! BTW, your post today was not difficult to understand--you are usually quite clear of thought. And, to turn around your statement--Yesss--ALWAYS a pleasure!
SYD: Always with some words to let a Peep know you were here--thank you! Those nightmares should go away as you age--that IS one thing of which I know--AGE!
I prefer my slumbering dreams that when my imagination really runs away and lets her hair down. I love my nocturnal adventures...
I assume that I do dream but I NEVER remember doing so. My waking dreams are more impressive to me than those that enter my mind at night. At least, I remember those!
A DAFT LASS: Oooooh! could you share a couple of those? Hmmmmm--grin!
RNSANE: That's me too--I think!
