WHO ARE YOU?
One who is always
Hangin' around me
Is me.
How can I rid
Myself of...
Me
Maybe the way
Is to fool
Me
To think I'm another
Thus transferring
Me...to thee.
Then this day
I may say
Why are you
Hangin' round
Me?
Hangin' around me
Is me.
How can I rid
Myself of...
Me
Maybe the way
Is to fool
Me
To think I'm another
Thus transferring
Me...to thee.
Then this day
I may say
Why are you
Hangin' round
Me?
SORRY TO BE LATE...

To accept and love oneself is the first step toward peace and harmony. This is wittily written, but profoundly felt, Steveroni.
When I was young, I grew to hate me. When I was older, I sought to find me. When I found me, I learned to like me. It wasn't until I listened to my HP that I learned to love me. You say it so much more poetically, though! :-D

Oh, Sam! He beat me here!!! And I wanted to come here first and say exactly what he just said. And I just wrote another comment, and it disappeared!!! Why do these things happen? But, that isn't important, Steveroni. What's important is these words, right here. I was trying to say, in my previous comment that disappeared, something to the effect that you put such deep thought and meaning into so few words... I really don't know how you do it. These are words that remind me of all those times I just scratched my head... and wondered... if I WANTED to be fooled. I loved every word!
And, thank you for the sweet nudge, Steveroni. I've been a bit out of sorts, lately, and I'm just beginning to get myself out of the funk. So, thank you for being so patient and so eternally kind.
Warmest hugs,
Nevine
;-) I was just joshing about wanting to say exactly what Sam said. I mean, I would have liked to have said it like he did, but... that Sam... he's got his way with words, too. Love you, Steveroni!

Ah! can I hang around with you and your You?
When one starts to find one's voice it's as if you're split in two--the one you and the writer you. You found yourself here. Good write. I'd like you to visit my poem this week and see what you think of it.
I'm listed as mme.canongate. Thanks

We all wish to escape from ourselves at some time.
As they say you cannot run from yourself...:-) You did an awesome one shot Wednesday! Always a joy to read your writing! :-)
Deep lines and the photo recall duality in reflections of nature.
yay. excited to see one shot graces by the likes of you...unless of course you are thee right now...nice write steve...your wit is top notch...
Hey, you peeps really DO offer support to one who is having a "down" couple days. MANY thanks, from steveroni
You're not going to get rid of Me that easily. Like this a lot.
Cheer up Bunky!!
As long as you are reading the obituaries instead of staring in them...It's a Good Day!
Nice One Shot!
I completely get this. I bug myself more than anyone ever bugs me, or has the capacity to. Funny, isn't it? The picture is stunning, as is the sentiment.
I am with you on this one Mr. Roni! We're taught to love ourselves (which aint easy!) but we can even take that to a whole new level lol. great bit of wit sir!
:) This is a witty ditty! Love it!
I love this Steve...So brilliantly written :)
A counselor used to encourage me to
" Accept, embrace and celebrate "
who I am. Of course that took time !
thanks for writing I really love your piece here!
Love this post! Remarkable words!
How can we define love for another if
we cannot define the meaning within ourselves?
The truth is that when we give to ourselves we also give to others.
Do you love me Steveroni?
B ;)
Sounds like you're hanging around so you can get to know yourself.
Nice One Shot, Steveroni!
Sometimes I really like my company but, on the days that I don't, I just can't get rid of myself!! On those days, I try to take a long nap!!!
I just get so much joy just by reading the other people's comments... and if Nevine got to that point... well ! Imagine me!
So... let's say 'no comments'- all the best has been said
Only hey! Lovely- and ... hey!..
I ♥ my Veroni...
:)
this was so well written...getting to know yourself and like what you see is something that does come with age...but are we ever really satisfied? cheers pete
Very true. Wherever we go, there we are! Enjoyed this. -bill
Quite clever my friend and some soul searching too.
Glad you shot it over to One Shot - glad to have you
Moon smiles
Take care of yourself and don't beat up on Steve.
Brilliant! And aren't we so good at fooling ourselves...until we can no longer fool ourselves? :)
So few words, but say SO much!
