REASON TO KEEP DOING IT

AA BIG BOOK

NOTE:  IN NO WAY DOES THIS BLOG OR POSTINGS
HEREIN REPRESENT OR PRETEND TO REPRESENT
ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, OR ANY OF ITS
MEMBERSHIP.  ALL VIEWS ARE STRICTLY
AND SOLELY THOSE OF THE AUTHOR...

The AA Preamble

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

OH! THAT AGAIN?

Alcoholics Anonymous is a group, millions of People
Reaching toward me, out from themselves
Saying in one great chorus: "Come with US!"
And so I reached my own arms out, grabbed a hand
And found a seat on the bus

Many years we soberly drove
Down and up the Steps
Of which there still are twelve
When did I decide to shelve
These gems, my way of life?

Riding the rear of this caravan
No fun for this active man
So as I make my way up front
To grab onto hands out-held
I feel an unwanted separation

Are the hands I'm holding the slippery ones?
Or are those my own self-oiled, well-oiled palms
Which are causing me to lose the grip
Ah! I caught on to a sleeve
Just as it's about to rip

The Jersey is numbered 4
Why could it not be more?
Because AA Step number 4
AGAIN? Is such a bore (really not!)
Did it once before!

And actually, this is where it starts for REAL!
Because "One, Two, Three, you're OUT!"
Is what many of us get to re-feel
And I, when or if into a funk, recall
This is how peeps get drunk! That's all!

TODAY:
SOBER, Peeps!
PEACE, Peeps!
LOVE, Peeps!

Saturday morning

NOTE: This is my response to an email message, and with time constraint, I just decided to post it, so you all can know where steveroni "is at" in his head, and his heart!
Trust God
Clean house
Help others
Love everyone

Cindy...thanks for your response! It is Sat morning, and I've just been taken to a Starbucks here in Charlottesville, VA. I have been without Internet Access for almost 24 hours! So they had to transport me in a strait jacket. And I

Ahhhh! COFEE! And being online--I think I'm in heaven! Shaking while writing--Many who read this will understand (I'm gonna put it up on the blog in a few minutes).

And yes, I have stories. The peep I'm staying with will give me the "tour". While I enjoy "seeing" new places and things, it wreaks havoc with my bogging LOL. Looking forward to visit Monticello, Tom Jefferson's place.

Thank you for your prayers for safety...that is far more important than the blogs. I'm still just loving EVERY MILE of the scooter ride! REALLY.

This afternoon I'll be visiting TSR (The Second Road), which was my original reason for coming up here. I had written that I'd like to visit up here, and one of the peeps who keep TSR in business (A. MILES is her name) wrote some thing like, "YEAH! Everyone always says they will come to visit--and none of them EVER do..." And so I wrote back, that was all I needed to hear! I am COMING.

Well, I'm here. But never in my wildest dreams did I foresee the wonderful, beautiful, daily (sometimes hourly!) Spiritual happenings in my life and the lives of others...as a result of this ride. I have more faith and trust in God than I ever could have imagined. I realize I'm baring my soul here, but this message just seems SO important for me to send to you now.

I'm being paged to go on my "tour"...so, see ya all later.

Peace.
Love.
Steve

AMENDED: VIEWPOINTS

Continental Divide in Glacier National Park. We visited our college friends who live in Libby, MT...

What BEAUTY as the sun rose over these mountains.

Anna was so frightened, driving on the narrow one-lane mountain roads

RANDOM THOUGHTS

When drinking I suspected I was the only person in the world. Sober now, I realize there is no one left to read this.

The day I stopped drinking, that was the day my troubles began. That was the day I realized I had big problems.

When finally one day I quit trying to make good things happen, good things just happened.

The day I changed...everything changed.

Our house is paid for.
We are broke.
Our neighbors have money.
We are paying for their houses.

Blogging is good for me.
A blogger said pull out weeds by root.
Make room for grass to grow.
I pulled weeds today.
Hurt my back. Wow!
Blogging is good for me.
Pulling weeds is not.

I love my Suzuki bike.
It is almost one year old.
I've laid it down only five times.
Only one collision.
Pickup truck failed to make right turn on RED.
Right on his tail, I did not fail to do so.
Bike is old for its age.

I love riding in small planes.
I love riding my scooter bike.
Riding bike gives same feeling as in plane.
That same rush, gravity pull and thrill.
Plane 0-60 in ten seconds.
Bike 0-60 in 2.5 seconds.

My desk is a mess.
I might have to clean it up.
Papers and book piled high.
Some sliding off onto floor.
Q. Where will everything be stored?
A. Wherever I cannot find it.

I love Alcoholics Anonymous.
I love the people there, my true friends.
(And the bloggers...I cannot find the words...)
I go there every day.
My bike knows the way.
My bike is on Step 4.
My scooter has a Harley for a sponsor.

I love my home.
I love my wife, her family.
I love my family with extensions.
We agree on everything...always.
I just wrote a lie...old bad behavior.
God, I thank you for everything!

I've got to go to bed soon.
Or my wife will say, Why are you getting up so early?
And, in order to keep peace,
I'll just have to get dressed, and stay up.
(Yawwwn!)

Stay sober today with me and with each other, OK?

In LOVE and Service,
Sincerely.
Steve E.
