MAGPIE 34-- WHAT REALLY HAPPENED

This was inspired by Willow's Magpie Tales

NOTE PLEASE:
The following short lines were derived
from H. W. Longfellow's
MIDNIGHT RIDE OF PAUL REVERE
Which you may read...FIRST

MY "PIE"

"One if by land
Two if by sea
Three if by air
(And that would be ME!)

And on the opposite shore
You'll hear my winged steed roar
As I (Shhhhh!) quiet him more.
One day this will all be lore."

So said Paul Revere-a-roni
Telling Peeps through his hand-held Sony
How the lighted signal will be:
Number of lanterns in a tree

Now know former farmers
How better set their armors
In order for all to see
Ways to set us free.

Better late than...well, I'm not so sure!

Steve, I read several poems inspired by this shot, but yours is truly original. I know I've told you this before... but... by now... I do recognize your "voice"... and your lingo... anywhere. Your style... is YOU... and casual... and relaxed... and... Steve. Nice!

Interesting Steve... witty clever write. Wheres you S-160?

Love your new banner, very elegant and tasteful. The old one was nice as well, always good to have a change now and then.

Hi Steven,

If I have not told you this before, I'm now telling you..just so you know I do enjoy your poems/writing.
It is a shot in dark...your writing has been an inspiration to me.
You really have a way with words.

Loved this one! It lightens my heart just reading it. As everything of your posts does.
So thank you for that.
