Ramblings

Thursday night--Friday morning.

Well, it's past midnight, so it is Friday, and here on Cocoa Beach, a narrow strip of barrier island on Florida's east coast, there will be a beach meeting Friday morning at 7. That is same time I always attend meetings in Naples, so big deal, right?

A crowd of about 800 heard Sister Maurice, and her Alanon Sister Rose Maurice last night. They were both great speakers, inspiring, and spiritual. Talks were loaded with laughs, yet serious, ya know what I mean? Maurice has 38 years in our program.

I just wanted to be in touch with mah blog friends, I already miss youse guys. I miss my computer also...using Prayer Girl's laptop now, it's like eating a stranger's unfinished chocolate ice crean sundae. It's good, but not like having your own!

There are so many blogs I'd like to comment, but breakfast is in 5 hours, and a full day after. I realize most of you have full days also, at work (blogging?) cooking, taking care of children, tending to the four-legged folks.

I have met so MANY people already here, it is fun talking to folks who you already know, just have not yet met. I LOVE it! It is good to get away from the routine AA, even though I miss the peeps. It is good to once again see, with renewed vision, that we ex-drunks are alike everywhere. This group, except for size, could be any of the groups at home we all know and love.

God is so good to us all, and He does eventually grant us peace. I just must persevere in my effort to pass this message on to those who still suffer, and thereby stay sober myself. And I don't believe God said that I cannot have FUN while doing His will?

This is certainly a rambling type of blog--I apologize for that.

Anna took a pretty good picture of me with the beach and Atlantic Ocean as background. I almost mistakenly published it at top of this blog, suddenly realized I could not--because it showed my ugly anonymous face, but then I was even still tempted. See, Ego and Pride are still my nemises.

If anybody read this far...well, good night, God bless you, and LOVE, from
Steve E.

Stevie, wow and wow again! Sounds so wonderful and the people you are meeting!!! You are certainly a "people person." I know how much you miss your blog community. In time, you will be back in full swing, with your precious computer among us bloggers out here. Thanks for coming on and updating us all though! Hope you were able to get some good Zzzzzzzzzzz.

Enjoy yourself Steve-O. We'll all be here when you get back. Although I will say this: I live your travels vicariously. Because I am tied to the house so much with kids, kids in school, work, etc. I can't enjoy many trips away. I like to hear about yours. Makes me feel like I'm there. :)
