Two Friday "55"s today. If you'd like to play
post a 55-word story or whatever, and let
G-MAN know about it!

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May
And summer's lease hath all too short a date.
--William Shakespeare

"55" Number ONE

Fly little bird,
Fly with the wind.
For if you don't
You have sinned.

For the wind is the law
And the law is just.
Whence the wind blows
You also must.

So fly, sweetest bird,
Go fly with the wind.
If you do not
You've most assuredly sinned...

"55" Number TWO

In all Creation
Above and beneath
There exists a simple rule
Creator's bequeath

The rule is thus.
What is following next
All must obey
No matter what
Any one may say:

There arrives a moment
That birds, beasts,
And Quirky Peeps
Even great celestial bodies
And simply
Let go,
Let God.....

Both very nice, and inspirational!

Stickler-for-detail ME also liked that you used "whence" rather than its common misuse, "from whence!" (And don't get me started on people who think "Wherefore art thou Romeo?" means "Where are you, Romeo?")

Buy one get one free.

Both are so outstanding!

The present life of man is like the
swift flight of a sparrow fleeing the cold in at one door and immediately out at another, whilst inside, he is safe from the wintry tempest, but after a short space of warmth he vanishes, passing from winter to winter again.

just amazing, and i remember when you thought you couldn't work with 55 words and here we have two beautiful submissions!!

As usual Steve, we are on the same thought process. I've been reading the "Ragamuffin Gospel" and it's all about letting go and receiving Grace! Awesome job, and thoroughly enjoy your weekend!

Senor Steveroni - you were really in creative mode to do two! I am really working hard to get one finished! Both were wonderful, lofty, on a higher plane, which I certainly need, from time to time.

My poetry book - Life's Journey by Carmen Henesy - is out on Amazon
( Poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well )

Oh, thank you for the order to fly with the wind! I shall take flight now, and let go and let God!

But freedom is also being able to fold one's wings and rest.

I just wrote about my little wings bursting forth today. Very appropriate. Thanks!

You took flight with both of these 55's. I am humbled. My 55 is HERE .
A gruesome ending.

Yes, Freedom. Very nice writing.

I don't know about these things because the rules are too many. I will break all of them and write something only I will understand.
