NEVER IS FOREVER

A POEM IN THE SERIES
"SHE GONE AND LEFT ME"

NEVER IS ALWAYS AND FOREVER

A POEM IN THE SERIES
"SHE GONE AND LEFT ME"
by steveroni

It's one thing for low
In my life to hit.
Another thing to know,
To taste it a bit,

One, to wallow in the mire
Or buy a bottle and drink
Worse, to hang by a wire
Not longer able to think

Of consequences
Of the right
Or the wrong;
Of nonsenses
As in words
Of this song:

"It's been seven hours and fifteen days
Since you took your love away
I go out every night and sleep all day
Since you took your love away
Since you been gone I can do whatever I want
I can see whomever I choose
I can eat my dinner in a fancy restaurant
But nothing
I said nothing can take away these blues
`Cause nothing compares
Nothing compares to you..."

Lyrics Excerpted from :
"Nothing Compares 2 U"--a song written in the 1980s by Prince for The Family

We write as the spirit leads. And if another poem is where it leads...then "have at it".

Lovely dear.

Poems carry emotion (and humor) so well. I would love to write a piece with your title, and sing it "country". Wouldn't that be satisfying? Remember the song that refrains, "I'm going to lay my head down on some lonesome railroad line....?"

oooh I love that song, it's on my iPod by Sinead O'Connor. love your poems too :) and I LOL'd at the comment about your new guy being unique! It's such a freedom to get past that and be freed from our 'uniqueness'. I pray for it for him

Hey, Peeps! I am LOVING your comments. But just to set the record (pun, yes--intended!) I know of Sinead O'Connor! Just did not wish to post a VIDEO. OK? However, she IS the best--I just wanted the original words, w/o music.

And hey FYI I did NOT "lose a love". In fact I have probably gained a few the past couple days, the "good" kind
--as opposed to WHAT? you say?--grin!

I'll never tell...you can believe that!

Wonderful heartfelt poem, Steveroni, suffused with such passionate emotion. And coupled with one of my all time favourite songs, truly a perfect combination :)

Steve, oh yes, another poem! And such a lovely piece. What a delight it is to be reading you again. And I do love "Nothing Compares to You", no matter who in the world is singing it. It's a lovely addition to your words.

And hey, thank you for your thoughts left on my blog while I was away...

This person has an amazing use of texture and color in the paintings, the trees are particularly amazing since the shape of the leaves is defined with highly contrasting colors. thanks for the post, truly unique.
