STARS AND A STAR

This little poetry is inspired by a pleasant early-morning phone conversation with a favorite Peep, and a blog post by another Peep, new to me  Jozien  and it is imaginary imagery for me, a further pushing...this one did not simply roll itself onto the keyboard, as most of these do for me.

TOP OF THE WORLD

Above tree line of mountain
I discovered earth-top lake
And in austere and beautiful
Starkness, a perpetual fountain.
At once I knelt there to slake
My need.

Swimming naked in lofty waters
Climbing, frolicking, in this heaven
Above most of the earth, even
Then, I--a "warm-everything" guy
Realized nothing else matters
Than need.

First, descended bleakness.
Next, I felt dark itself bless
My many gifts from God: Humanity,
Sobriety, Love, Freedom from insanity
And also the gift of you...you who
So feed my need.

I know the dark had a vibrant need,
A longing from the first-ever Seed
Of Creation...for light, sight, and right!
Unveiled now, midst this very night,
Stars--so many--lacking yet-named number.
Ne'er now do I need slumber!

Covered with this blanket of blips, blinks and twinks
I lay viewing world's largest Christmas Tree
My thoughts turned (naturally--OMG!) to blogs and links
But before long, as usual, I was linked to Thee.
One who, when ever inward I look--I see.
And need.

Do you know? (You do not!) that each star's Light
reflected your sweetness; your love-light, your lace,
Your talent, your giving nature--your hair, your face,
Your body, your heart, even your soul. And a fight--
I was witness as stars pushed one another, 'til bright
Was indeed, a need.

With day, morning-shining sun-star
Brought you into clear focus once more--
Into my world...one of warmth, not war.
One of forgiveness, not resentments of wrath from above.
Needed now--the tendrils of tenderness, the freedom of life, of love,
Sweeter Peacefulness and purer Joy.

Amazing, I Still
Even now feel chill,
As I swam in those lofty waters,
Above most of the earth.

Though I'm a warm-water "warm-everything" guy,
YOU were the first to make it seem real fine
To climb, swim, frolic, love...above the tree-line.
Let's do it again and again...some time....

My Dearest Sweet Peep Steve,
WOW
I got wordless. Which - as everyone knows- means I cannot say a word.
But, Of course! how can a so called poet run out of words?

This brought to my mind the lyrics of a song by -to me -the best band ever, Pink Ployd,
"Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond."

You shine like the Sun and like all those stars we can see, not together, but at the same time...
And you do so every time you post something here.

With this poem you have excelled yourself.

Love and joy always :)

You'll be missed this week, hope you write more before your long ride...

Your words transported me, Steveroni to the top of the world, indeed. Beautiful poem.

Dear Steveroni: You have an amazing sensitivity as a poet. The words are inspiring to great heights and breadths. Love being "open-ended" gives a good feeling that one need never stop loving or living; just continue on loving! Thank-you and have a wonderful jaunt on your scooter. Is it a Vespa? Make sure you are well-seen (neon stickers) and stay in the slow lane. (dont think Vespa's have much kick-down do they?). Sounds wonderful as does your poetry! Creative!
