"Cough...Cough"

MAGPIE 32

How the hell did I get in here?
WHAT brought me to this place?
It is stifling
I cannot smell
I can't taste
I cannot SEE
Cough...cough...
I cannot breathe
Shall I even LIVE?

Last thing I remember
...Draining the tequila bottle
(Gulp!) What was that?
A squirrming worming thing.
Oh well.

Short-skirted female then said *C'mon
Dive into the pool with me*.
Couldn't resist
I jumped
Laughter
She did not

There was no 'splash'
Just all this sand in
Which I'm now
Up-to-my-neck buried.

Here is a terrible
Sensation of being pulled
Down, down, down,
Like sucked almost
Into a small chute
A hurricane-like vortex

Oops, now over my head!
I'm covered. Feeling feint.
Like snug-as--a---bug
----in----a-----rug.

Hey! (Crawling for dear life!)
Maybe that's because I AM
A bug. (hic!)

love the leaps and 'crawlies'
from liquid to arid sand - what a challenge!

poor little thing...

I know you cannot even kill a little bug... that's why you feel so concerned I guess...
So often that's what we feel like... just bugs

Hoping that is not your case!!
Of course not :)

Hugs Steve!

DULCE: (Said with a smirk!)
"..each microbe and bacillus
Has a different way to kill us
And in time they all
Will claim us for their own..."
Bug-Hug!

JESS: Did not know you read these unworthy scribblings..but Thanks! Next week will be better--it HAS to--grin!!!

IZZIE: "Life is full of challenges."

Now was THAT not a brilliant line?
Nice of you to be here. Thanks.

BRIAN: Do not know if bugs have hangovers. I did NOT--never dried out long enough. True! What a shame, to admit something like that, accessible to the whole world.

i know that has nothing to do with it - but reminded me somehow of a story of Franz Kafka where a man slowly transformed into a bug and in the end was brushed to the dustbin…not a nice story…don't like franz kafka that much...

Yes, the going through is the hardest part...

Now we'll have to start making billboards warning bugs not to drink and fly.

sure that isn't just the DT's? Oh the agony of drying out?
Clever Magpie!

I get as Kafkaesque feeling about it, too.
Lost, floating, disoriented horror.
Had a dream like that once or twice.
Didn't like it.

Loved this - it sounds as though your mind has gone on a wander after the tequila! Great magpie.

This gave me a laugh! And rather than "up-to-my-neck" in sand, I've had a bit of that in my throat on occasion! Maybe you can invent an hourglass ride??!!?

Fun one!

There is just TOO MUCH GOING ON, I am SO far behind in most of your blogs, and commenting. Sooner, or later, somehow, I hope to catch up.

Brilliant ... I just can't help feeling for the little bug! :o)

A prescription that will fix you right up....two aspirins, a good night's sleep and call me in the morning if you still have that crawling sensation....

You jumped and the other person stayed back. I think that I've been in the front line before and stepped forward when others hung back. Not a great feeling.
