A BLOG

NAPLES FLORIDA SUNSET

A BLOG

This evening my mind went completely blank, when faced with writing tomorrow's blog. So I decided to "create" a blog, by living it, by "making it happen". (Talk about 'directing'???) I said to Prayer girl, "Hey PG, let's hop on those bikes and take a ride to the beach."

We warmed up the scooters (it's only 86 deg. out) and headed for the downtown beaches. It is SO MUCH FUN riding under the overpasses, and over the underpasses. The air around 7 PM is slightly cooler, the traffic is minimal, and we could move right along, if ya know what ah mean? Speed Enforcement were all inside little boxy diners, eating doughnuts.

Our Naples beaches are magnificent. That is what convinced us to stay here 44 years ago, and plant our feet in the sand.

Tonight we did not swim. It was an evening for 'walk-and-talk'. We paced ourselves barefoot down the beach, so that our return would have us facing the glory of God's sunset. After awhile we sat on some of God's chairs, which earth people call boulders. And bathed in the comfort of a many-colored setting sun, a slightly fanning sea breeze, and sea birds all around, we talked.

Rather...I talked. I told my wife of certain problems with which I have been wrestling, mostly in my head. As usual with me, the issues had mostly dissipated themselves--not without God's help and human help--and all which was left was the relating a long story. And I talked. And Prayer-Girl listened. I felt as if God made up a Threesome. (Prayer-Girl DID talk after, of course, of course!!!)

Understand, this was no "heaven-or-hell" stuff. This was life. I had decided an explanation was in order. It was as if I had been holding in my mind a secret. And it was time I let my spouse in on it. There may be more understanding between us as the result, or there may not. We certainly love one another. And we give, one to the other, leeway to live a life in freedom. We both try to do God's will, and both ask Him to give us the strength, the power to do that. I KNOW PG is much better in that endeavor than I.

Talking is good, between countries (usually), among business partnerships, between friends, among our little blog community here, in most family situations, between lovers, and may I include spouses?

Thank You God, for giving me this blog topic, and also for giving me the courage to live it and write it. I love everything which God has made...therefore I love everything, and that includes--especially--everybody.

Peace!
Steve E

Communication, in all its forms, is the key to forming human relationships. I think.

It surely was a beautiful night, a terrific ride, and a peaceful moment in time.

We were free to be just you and me down by the sea. What more could we ask for?

I could make this trip to our beautiful beach a more regular outing. God was there.

Lovely Idea for coming up with a blog post - it is after all all about living...

Steve,

I just sent you an email about the comment you left on my post regarding Burt. I realized I didn't sign the email and now I just got your explanation about Burt from your second comment. Our wires appear to be crossed today. :-)

Interesting - just had an hour long conversation with my sponsor about connecting in face space as well as connecting in cyber space. Seems for me, both are useful and necessary.

Blessings and aloha...

If only we each would talk to one another and really share what is on our minds and in our hearts. It makes a lot of difference.

"...and the last shall be first..."

SYD: "If only..." Oh my...Yes.

LOU: That's cute! "Walkin the talk."

ED: As much as I LOVE blogging and bloggers, for long-term sobriety, I'd have to choose "face-to-face"...

GIN: That package at your door on Marco Island...his name is Burt, and he eats regular food, fresh water daily, etc. And he pees, YES

CAT: Living, yep!

SHADOW: Talking, yep.

KRISTIN: "Friend, bless you!

MARY C: Why don't you visit and "Walk-and-Talk"? After Hawaii?

PRAYER-GIRL: OK, at least every six months? Should be plenty to "talk about" then -grin!

dAAve: "I think!" Therefore.......

JBR: "Sweet Stevie": Don't think for a moment that I don't LOVE THAT!

GIN: Well, we do live in the Garden of Eden, but really, we're not Adam and Eve--well, PG is not Eve, anyway???

You know I've not been able to settle my mind into a topic for today's post and I think it is supposed to be my day to 'listen'. Interesting that you also were also blank for awhile.

I loved that aspect, not having anything to write about so you decide to let the day give you something. In other words sought out a serene balance. (Hugs)indigo
